Defense companies make use of biometric entry for security purposes
I was recently escorted on a tour of a high grade defense facility. The normally do not allow visitors access to certain areas. The entire premises is monitored and access is by way of biometric entry. I had to have someone with high enough clearance to see certain areas. I guess they consider it a security risk to let unauthorized personnel to view certain sections. This is probably due to the attitudes that were prevalent during the cold war. It was an interesting tour but also eye opening to the amount of money that is spent on manufacturing defense systems. One has to wonder what good that money could do if resources were diverted to more productive endeavors.
