A year later — a repeat of the weather at our Christchurch wedding venue
This weekend was the anniversary of our daughter’s wedding. And the weather was as perfect this time as it was a year ago. Warm and sunny. Actually it was probably a little hotter this time — I spent one day on the roof of our home painting and got sunburned arms. Something that didn’t happen a year ago, even at the garden party at our christchurch wedding venueOur daughter and son-in-law came up from the city where they now live and spent the weekend with us and with his parents, who were home from the Asian city where they work in schools. So we had a lot of good time with the young couple and the wider family. It was pleasant remembering the day last March. But just a rewarding to see how our daughter and her husband have grown together and developed into a gracious, working-well-together couple. We went out for a meal one night. Jenni wore the mother-of-the-bride outfit she had made for the occasion. And as she was coming down the stairway in the restaurant another guest, just coming in with his wife and friends, stopped and paid her a loud, fulsome compliment about the dress. I hastened to tell them that Jenni had made it, and we then walked out into. the evening cool feeling very happy with the day.
