Undeniably, many parents decline sending their teens to some fat camps (a.k.a. weight loss camps) for fear that their teen might take their suggestion as a blatant criticism to their physical well-being. Some kids would inevitably think: “I’m fat, and mom and dad are embarrassed of me – that’s why they’re sending me away.” But truth be told, the children who have just gone to weight loss camps love the experience and in turn, the parents are glad of the results. Another reason why some parents are afraid of sending off their kids to some sort of weight loss camp for teens is because of a popular misnomer that these “boot camps” are overloaded with rigorous, even strenuous, exercises and tons of other physical punishments. Truth be told – it’s just a hearsay – of course, weight loss camps are a regular summer camp, with all the traditional summer-camp activities although the meals served to your kids are healthy and nutritious – not to mention that they’re also added classes on nutrition and self-esteem.
