Depression and anxiety strikes the young - and why you should care
Much scientific research and investigation has determined that people who suffer chronic bouts of depression and anxiety, had their first episode quite early in life - in their teenage years, or even earlier. Why should you and I care? We need to take an interest in the lives of our young people - when we notice they are having hard times, we need to make an effort to speak with them and get them help if they need it. Their first depressive episode, their first panic attack, may only be the start of many more to come. If we can get them help early in life, we may be able to help them to nip this problem in the bud, preventing a lifetime of suffering.
