Gloves reached its pinnacle in 16th century when Queen Elizabeth I set the trend of wearing richly embroidered and jeweled gloves. She would take off those lovely and exquisite gloves during audiences and draw attention to her beautiful hands. Gloves have been part of the insignia of royal families, of emperors and kings. It has also spawned into different forms and usage which includes sports, for protection purposes and even stimulation in the form of lingerie gloves. They are made to compliment adult costumes. In terms of function, nothing can be more ubiquitous than latex or medical gloves used in surgery and forensics. This was first developed by the Australian Ansell company. Its main function is to ensure sanitary purposes to avoid and limit the patient’s exposure to infectious matters.
