The low emissions zone in London has been a god send to local Van dealers. I know that sounds like a strange thing to say considering that the low emission zone means that vehicles which emit a high amount of carbon dioxide have to pay extra to drive in the zone. The reason why the low emission zone has been so good for van dealers as I found out when I spoke to a Vauxhall van dealer is that new vans are environmentally friendly enough to dodge the extra tax and if you compare the tax to the monthly payments on owning a new van, the new van comes out cheaper.
